About Me

My photo
Durham, NC
After graduating from the University of Mobile in 1985 I started a career as an artist. My life consisted of Easel painting, Murals, Trompe l'oeil and faux finishes. I did this for 18 years until reaching a point of creatively burning out. I painted nothing of substance for almost 7 years. In January of 2010 things happened to open my eyes to the beauty around me and a deep desire to paint again. This blog will be dedicated to my new work. Paintings that are for me and my pleasure and the pleasure of others and not for a pay check. My hope is that this will help to keep the work fresh and of true vision.

Well on the 20th of this month I had my "Print release" party for my painting "Forgotten" It was a lot of fun and I want to thank everyone that came out. I love the idea of a party and Art in the same venue. There are several people that helped to make it possible: Richard Dederikson and Charles Guidry came and saved my life by helping me hang the show and creating lighting for the paintings. Just brilliant!!! My wife Catherine and daughter Charity made a wonderful spread of food for all to enjoy.

Finally I MUST say a tremendous THANK YOU!!! to Ali Linn. All the frames on my paintings were made and finished by her. She is a true artisan with a tremendous talent and I am blessed to have her as my friend as well as my frame maker.
